I don't know if that happened during shipping, or just was its condition from being this old. It had some paper in the box to cushion it, but probably could have been better protected if it wasn't dented before shipping. Puzzle pieces are in great condition. I'm going to put it together & frame it, so not as concerned about the box as someone who is a collector that wouldn't open it might be. Great price & I'm happy.
