Synopsis
Providing a new insight into twentieth-century architecture, this is the first book in English on the work of French architect Fernand Pouillon (1912-1986). It includes Jacques Lucan's analysis of his post-war urbanism and its critique of mainstream modernism, a description of material construction by Adam Caruso, and Pouillon himself inspired by Aix-en-Provence and reflecting on the contemporary architect's position in a cultural continuum. At the book's heart lie survey drawings and photographs of Pouillon's key Parisian housing projects. This book is first in a series on 'The Limits of Modernism - a Forgotten Generation of European Architects'., This is the first book in English on the architectural work of the influential French architect, urban planner, teacher, and writer Fernand Pouillon (1912--86). Among the essays are ones from architectural critic and historian Jacques Lucan offering a rich analysis of Pouillon's postwar urbanism and its critique of mainstream modernism and Adam Caruso delving into Pouillon's use of materials. This hardback book is of the highest quality, has a fine appearance , arrived in perfect condition, and is an excellent value. On what I was not asked about this time, communicating with the seller would have required using email outside of the eBay system, because they do not accept eBay messages, the book was well packed in a purpose-designed cardboard box, the shipping was faster than I expected for the bound media rate, and the book was exactly as described and pictured.

This is an outstanding seller to deal with. Fair prices that are more than reasonable in this economy. The product is in better condition than described, a true value for my money. Packaged and shipped well shows seller has concern for the products he sells to arrive in excellent condition. The seller is friendly and communicates timely with his customers. I highly recommend this seller and would do business again anytime. Thank you!
