  • Have to get use to distance lines and is lacking one feature I would like it to have.

It's a little difficult getting use to where the distance lines line up as to how far the rear of the car is from an object. Once you get use to that it works fine. Clarity is very good. Personally I would like to see Garmin add an audible warning signal to it. My wife's backup camera that came with the car from the factory has an audible signal the closer you get to an object is a nice feature which with every other voice commands on the GPS unit I feel they should be able to add the camera. other then that I am glad I purchased it. Hope this helps.

  • Cable should be longer.

I purchased this to add to the back of my enclosed contractor trailer to ease backing down my narrow driveway. I was hoping to mount the transmitter in the nose of the trailer, where there is a plastic upper valance, so as to minimize signal loss. Problem is, the cord length from the camera to the transmitter is only around 3 feet, yet there is a long length of power supply cable. Setting it up the way I wanted requires another $40 extension cable, which makes this purchase cost prohibitive. I don't see the need for the excessively long power supply cable. The camera cable is what should be long to allow the transmitter to be as close to the GPS unit as possible. Poor planning by Garmin. Can't even finish the setup until I find someone selling the cable....at a reasonable price!

  • Clear picture and great range

Camera was easy to install and works great. I especially like the adjustable guide lines that help lining up the trailer when backing. I had to buy an extension cord for the transmitter because I installed the camera at the back end of a 16' trailer and the transmitter at the front. The trailer is hooked to a 25' motorhome and the signal to my Garmin GPS is strong and picture is clear and distortion free.

  • Simple install

Pleased with this purchase. Installed on my 2007 chevy pickup and took less than one hour to get it working correctly. Mainly my fault with my connections. Once this was corrected the camera paired right up. Should have taken no more than 30 minutes. I would give this five stars IF the image was sharper. BUT, for an add on it satisfies my needs and clear enough to see what's behind when in reverse, and very glad I did not need to route a hard wire up to my GPS.

  • clear view

I bought this to sync with the Garmin GPS. I was able to fit it into the handle of my pickup truck bed. The picture quality is very clear and I love that it has the directional lines too. It has worked flawlessly for the last 2 months. It and the GPS worked so well that I purchased another set to install on my brother's toyota car that has no backup camera. It works well for him. I installed the camera on top of the license plate by making a 3/8 inch notch on the top of the plate. He is very pleased with the system. I would buy again if I had a need for camera and GPS. NOTE: This camera is made to sync only with Garmin GPS units.

  • Gaood camera pretty good picture , not bad from the money works well with my drive smart 65 with alexa ,

  • Super easy install

This backup camera works great. Bluetooth connectivity make it a snap to install. Be forwarned that you must use the power cord that comes with it. I spent almost an hour trying to get GPS to connect before I realized that you must use cord that comes with unit to connect. Bluetooth connected easy after that. View is clear and good. Being able to change (move) lines of boundary make it very accurate... You can set them where they REALLY tell you what your boundaries are. Once connected to backup lights (for power) it comes on and shuts off automatically without any user intervention needed. GREAT PRODUCT

  • HORRIBLE RESOLUTION. Terrible value. Only 240p resolution!!!!

This camera is of such poor resolution that it is almost completely useless. I am using it on a flatbed truck to view my load and it is so grainy that I can tell the load is still within the confines of the flatbed, but not whether straps are still tight or what condition it's in. This is at a viewing distance of approx 6ft from camera to the load. The transmitter and receiver are 4 foot apart with a clear line of sight. This thing is overpriced junk. There are far cheaper and better quality options. Very disappointing. It also does not include any lights, or night vision capabilities found in most 25-40 buck cameras at 3 to 4 times the cost this camera just doesn't stack up to the cheap rivals, let alone the expensive ones. Only 240p resolution, and that high of resolution is only possible with specific GPS models.

  • Good, but could be better

Wiring was straight forward and it sync'ed to my unit with no problems. The major weakness is the low resolution/graininess of the camera. The minor pain is the camera mounting bracket. As supplied it should work well on any vehicle with plenty of clearance around the license plate. My Astro van does not provide such clearance and I ended up breaking off the arms and co-opting one of the mounting screws for the license plate lamp. This puts the camera off -center by 9" which can be compensated for by the adjustable grid lines on the display. The setup has been sufficient to allow me to hitch my trailer without help.
