It has a paper white screen mode, but often switches between it and bright white on it's own. This was a used machine and the battery is not in great shape. Lasts about 3 hours. A new battery on this particular machine lasts about 6 hours. The screen is great, both in resolution and color quality. The field of view is such that I can't see any change in the screen when looking at it from close to the edge. It does get pretty warm in my lap.
