  • fat tire rack

looks and works great, price was good compared to other's. problem I had was the screw's were to small to fit anything on the back. only way for it to fit was on the shaft screw of the back tire. drill a bigger hole on the rack rocker part. fit like it should. that's why I down graded the quality. you might have to improvise to fit your fat tire.

  • Is not a universal fit.

It is a good quality rack, BUT the advertising which says it is a universal fit for all fat tire bikes is false. I have a Mongoose 4" tire bike with very few accessory eyelets built into the frame. Contrary to the advertising, the bottom of this rack is designed to fit only on a quick release axle or on accessory eyelets. My Mongoose bike has neither. So in order to get it to fit onto my axle, I had to drill out (enlarge) the holes on the bottom extenders, which compromised the integrity of the strength of the unit. Also the top stabilizer arms are made to attached only to accessory eyelets. I had to drill these out too and attach them to the bolt that is my seat clamp. Again, I had to enlarge the holes so much that the integrity of the top stabilizer arms is questionable. If not for these attachment issues, the rack is a very good, very strong and lightweight unit.

  • Heavy duty

Needed brackets for solid axle not skewers .They make one not in kit. Sold separately and unavailable everywhere. Contact Axiom got runaround. Contacr again with part number no response. For the price should be included. Nice sturdy rack just don't expect the support from Axiom. Made my own brackets. The rack is quality made and strong.

  • Might Fit Your Bike

Maybe it will fit your bike. Just because it says disk brake and fat tire doesn't mean it will fit your disk brakes and fat tire. Since it said Fits 170-190mm rear spacing, I very carefully measured the bicycle frame and sure enough the eyelets for bolting on a rack were 190mm. Perfect right? Wrong! I suppose the inside of the rack tubes are 190mm but with the bracket bolted on the outside of the tubes (as pictured) the dimension is more like 210mm. Luckily I have a well equipped shop so I found some spacers to compensate. That didn't work because my eyelets were up a ways on the frame. This raised the rack to the point that it hit the seat. Back to the drawing board. This thing wouldn't fit around my disk brake with the angle bracket. No matter how I positioned it there wasn't clearance. I finally just took that bracket off and then I could get one of the down tubes bolted to the bike frame. I hope you are mechanically inclined and have a nice selection of stainless steel metric bolts as I do. Bottom line is I wish I would have purchased this item and saved $30: Ibera Bike Touring Carrier Cycling Disc Brake Rear Pannier Rack NEW RA5

  • Great product even without installation instrctions

A great bike rack for my fat-tire ride. Had to do some mods to the lower brackets to clear the disc brake actuating arm, but after that smooth sailing. Even worked with my Portland fenders. Definitely would recommend this product! Ran it through the mountains in Alaska just to make sure and now I'm sure!

  • Excellent hunting rack

Good rack. I routinely haul 60+ lbs of gear with my fatboy. I use it on very rough terrain as a hunting bike. I modified it with cross bars on top to carry a tree stand, my pack, and my bow or gun. Does have a bit of side shimmy with heavier loads on really rough trails but I don’t know of a rack that doesn’t, so I still give it 5 stars. I bent the rear fork on my previous bike if that helps give you a picture of how hard I ride.

  • Axiom Fatbike gear rack not as simple install as hoped

Ok, to start with, let's be perfectly clear and state that I really like the rack. But as noted in a review that I read somewhere else before I bought the rack, if you have disc brakes, you may need to do some engineering to get it to fit correctly. And so I did. If you don't have a decently set up shop, you may need to take it to your local bike shop to have it installed.

  • fat tire bike rack

I purchased this rack, to install extra batteries on my fat tire electric hunting bicycle. I had to have a strong rack to support 4 (12v 22ah) batteries, at 58lbs total! This rack was strong enough to hold the weight of all the batteries, so I started my install process. What I found that the bottom of this rack, (mounting bracket) required me to drill some holes in my bike frame- to not only make possible the install, but to make the install strong enough to hold that extra weight! The install wasn't too hard (after those holes were drilled in the frame), and the rack fit my 26x4 tire properly. This rack is worth the money, it is very strong, holds the extra weight and stays mounted without moving! Very nice product to install on a fat tire bike, that can support a lot of pounds!

  • Great product, slow shipping

This rack is light weight, well constructed and can carry a great load. The shipping took much longer than I expected.

  • Strongly Built.

We wanted this to carry the e-bike's large battery and controller. The rack's sturdy design is ideal for the application. You may want to evaluate how you are going to attach the base of the rack to the bike frame. Our mountain bike frame joins with a large plate, consistent with the rear coaster brakes. We had lots of space to drill holes in strong steel. If your rear frame forks are welded directly to each other, so that drilling holes will weaken them, you may want to think twice about how this rack will mount securely. The mounting ears provided may be Ok for light cargo. We eliminated them and bolted directly through our drilled holes to the rack. This proved very satisfactory. The bed of the rack fits a 1500 watt battery perfectly. We probably will install another identical rack in front of the handle bars. with a plywood platform for carrying a deer or camping gear or both.
