Works well within 50 feet of base

Arrived quickly in factory sealed package - a must have for this type of purchase. App is pretty simple to use and walks through step by step how to set up the Owlet monitor. Readings are accurate and alarms when high heart rate or low oxygen levels detected. Range of product from base is not as advertised. My home has an open floor plan, and about 50 feet from a bedroom with an open door to living room (no other walls in between base and baby) it will alarm that the monitor has disconnected or cannot detect readings. Works well in close proximity to the base (when baby is in same room or adjacent room, about 30 feet or less). I sleep better knowing the baby is being monitored and I will get alerted if there are any abnormalities detected. I would certainly purchase this again if I ever needed a replacement or had another child to monitor.Read full review...

Owlet Smart Sock 3rd gen

Great device; however, range is not the best between the base station and the sock. I had to move the base station closer to the nursery as the sock would lose connection to the base at maybe 40 feet away. After moving the base station closer I have had zero issues. On the app front, a lot of work still needs to be done. The app freezes often and requires switching tabs within the app to fix the vitals from sock and/or audio/video stream. Huge Upgrade

We bought the Smart Sock 3 to replace our Smart Sock 2. What a difference! They took a great product and made it even better. Came as advertised (generation 3). It was brand new in the box and has worked flawlessly. We really love that it charges wireless with the base and that this sock keeps reading through most "wiggles." Also, the base is much smaller than generations 1 and 2 and the sounds are a lower decible than before (very helpful when you are dead asleep). Owlet socks always are a little tricky to set up since you have to connect your phone to the base wifi before connecting the base to your house wifi, but it just takes a little patience and sometimes starting the process over. False alarms occasionally

My wife wanted one of these to monitor our newborn who has a hole in her heart. It’s had a few false alarms despite having the sock on as correctly and secure as possible. This has increased her anxiety rather than helped with it. Drastic, rapid dips and recovery don’t appear be accurate, but try convincing your wife with anxiety disorder.
